Colts Basketball is a high-performance school-based program committed to developing student-athletes both on and off the court. Based out of Bill Crothers Secondary School, the program emphasizes skill development, academic accountability, and character growth through the game of basketball. Colts Basketball competes within top-level leagues and provides athletes with exposure, structure, and support to pursue opportunities at the next level, while fostering a culture rooted in discipline, professionalism, and a passion for the game.

Colts Prep Basketball is a high-performance program committed to developing student-athletes through elite training, competitive exposure, and a strong foundation in discipline, accountability, and growth. Competing in the OSBA, we provide a platform for athletes to pursue post-secondary opportunities while building life skills through the game.

Position Overview

The Senior Girls Head Coach will lead the development and performance of our senior team (Grades 11–12), overseeing all aspects of team operations including practices, games, athlete development, and program culture. This role requires a strong understanding of high-performance basketball, particularly within the women’s game, and the ability to prepare athletes for the next level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead high-level practices aligned with OSBA prep standards 
  • Develop and implement offensive and defensive systems suited to personnel 
  • Provide individual player development with a focus on skill, IQ, and decision-making 
  • Manage game preparation, in-game adjustments, and post-game review 
  • Foster a disciplined, competitive, and positive team culture 
  • Support athlete recruitment pathways and post-secondary exposure 
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, families, and program leadership 
  • Collaborate with strength, skill development, and support staff 

Qualifications

  • Previous coaching experience at the high school prep, club, or post-secondary level 
  • Playing and/or coaching background at a high-performance level (OSBA, USPORTS, NCAA, or equivalent) 
  • NCCP Certification (Development or Competition stream preferred) 
  • Strong familiarity with the women’s game and its development pathways 
  • Proven ability to teach advanced skill concepts and game application 
  • Leadership, communication, and organizational strength 
  • Passion for athlete development and long-term growth 

Preferred Assets

  • Experience coaching within the OSBA or similar prep environments 
  • Background in skill development, particularly shooting and decision-making 
  • Existing relationships within the Canadian or U.S. recruitment landscape

Assistant Coach

Position: Assistant Coach

About the Role

Colts Prep Basketball is looking for an assistant coach who is eager to grow within a high-performance environment. This role is ideal for someone starting their coaching journey or looking to deepen their understanding of the game at the prep level, while contributing to a competitive and development-focused program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and running practices 
  • Support skill development sessions and on-court instruction 
  • Help with game preparation, bench management, and film review 
  • Build positive relationships with athletes and contribute to team culture 
  • Support communication between staff, players, and families 

Qualifications

  • Playing and/or coaching background in basketball 
  • NCCP certification (or willingness to obtain) 
  • Strong interest in women’s basketball and athlete development 
  • Willingness to learn, take feedback, and grow within the program 
  • Reliable, positive, and team-oriented

In-Game Photographer

Position: In-Game Photographer
Location: Bill Crothers Secondary School & select game venues

Colts Prep Basketball is looking for a passionate photographer to capture the energy, intensity, and moments that define our program. This role is perfect for someone who loves the game and takes pride in making athletes look their best on the court.

Responsibilities

  • Capture high-quality photos during games and select events 
  • Highlight key moments, player emotion, and team identity 
  • Deliver edited photos in a timely manner for social media and program use 
  • Collaborate with staff on content and storytelling 

Qualifications

  • Experience in sports photography preferred 
  • Strong eye for action and detail 
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work in a game environment 
  • Passion for basketball and athlete storytelling
