Becoming a Colt

 Colts Prep is a high-performance basketball program based at Bill Crothers Secondary School in York Region. We combine elite training, education, and exposure to prepare athletes for university and beyond. 

• Senior Prep: Competes in the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA), the premier high school basketball league in Canada.
   
• Junior Prep: Competes in the OSBA D-League, designed to develop younger athletes in a structured, competitive environment.

 Our focus is holistic development. We train players physically, mentally, and emotionally while supporting their academics. Athletes gain access to elite coaching, high-level competition, and exposure opportunities that help open doors to the next level. 

Bill Crothers offers a unique schedule and curriculum designed for student-athletes. Training, competition, and classroom learning are integrated, giving athletes the flexibility and support they need to balance academics and high-performance athletics.

Athletes train in advanced skill development, strength and conditioning, basketball IQ, leadership, and mental performance. Our staff includes experienced coaches who have competed and coached at high levels across Canada and internationally. 

Students receive structured academic guidance, including flexible scheduling, access to tutors, and accountability systems. Our goal is for athletes to succeed in the classroom while developing on the court. 

Colts Prep athletes compete in OSBA showcases, tournaments, and events where scouts and recruiters are present. We actively connect our players to university and college programs across Canada and the United States. 

A week blends:

• Daily training and practices
   
• Competitive games and scrimmages
   
• Strength and conditioning sessions
   
• Team meetings, film study, and leadership sessions

We look for athletes who are driven, coachable, and committed to improving. Talent matters, but character and work ethic are equally important.
